SCARF TUBE
The term ‘inside scarf’ typically refers to the removal of the longitudinal weld seam from the inside surface of a steel tube, leaving a smooth and symmetrical inside diameter. This process is commonly used in the production of welded steel tubes or pipes, especially when preparing the tubes for precision applications like DOM (drawn over mandrel) tubes, bending with mandrels and tight tolerance telescoping applications.
This method involves using TCT saw blades that are specifically designed to cope with the removed and high tensile welded steel in order to avoid unwished production stops due to blade failures.

Inside scarfing is commonly used in industries where precision welded steel tubes or pipes are produced or processed for e.g. automotive, hydraulic cylinders, roller conveyors, furniture, heat exchangers or oil and gas tubes.
